The classic story of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer brings warmth and tradition to the Christmas season, and families can catch the musical version of the show live at the Fox Theatre in Detroit. Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: The Musical plays Dec. 5-6, 2015.
As part of the Fifth Third Bank Fox Theatre Series, the musical tells the story of Rudolph, a reindeer with a special red nose. His nose attracts negative attention from the other reindeer and they exclude him from fun games.
Rudolph leaves town and meets new friends Hermey the Elf and Yukon, and comes across different adventures, including a trip to The Island of Misfit Toys. At last, Rudolph returns home to find out a snowstorm soon approaching the town, threatening Christmas.
Now it’s up to Rudolph to save the holiday. But does he have what it takes? Or will Christmas be forever lost? The only way to find out is by seeing the musical!
The show features classic songs and dialogue, familiar costumes and characters, too. It’s a performance both kids and parents will treasure.
Tickets range from $25 to $60 and are available through Ticketmaster. Show times are as follows:
- Saturday: 1, 4:30 and 8 p.m.
- Sunday: 2 and 5:30 p.m.
