'Sleeping Beauty' at Macomb Center for the Performing Arts in Clinton Township

“I know you, I walked with you once upon a dream.” Those lyrics are part of one of our favorite songs from the classic flick Sleeping Beauty. If your kids love the movie as much as we do, why not take them to see it live on stage? Thanks to the talented Macomb Ballet Company, Sleeping Beauty comes to life at the Macomb Center for the Performing Arts in Clinton Township, May 8-9, 2015.

For those of you who haven’t seen the movie in a while, here’s a recap: A king and queen tried to have a child for years and finally had a daughter named Aurora. An evil witch named Maleficent put a curse on her – death upon pricking her finger on a spinning wheel on her 16th birthday. After Maleficent left Aurora’s christening, a good fairy changed Aurora’s doom from death to a deep, death-like sleep in which only a kiss from her true love could awaken her.

Watch as this classic story is brought to life by the Macomb Ballet Company. Through poise, pirouettes and pivots, your little one is sure to enjoy the “pointe” of it all.

This stellar performance is a weekend event and the show times are as follows:

  • Friday: 10 a.m. and 7 p.m.
  • Saturday: 2 and 7 p.m.

Each performance runs approximately two and a half hours. Tickets are $15 for general admission and $12 if you’re a student.
