Are you looking for a children’s show that your child can really “dive” into? Then swing by Northville’s Marquis Theatre for a performance of Little Mermaid, which starts up on Saturday, March 9 and plays through May 5, 2019.
This show, which is the first installment of the theatre’s 2019 “Classic Storybook Season,” puts a twist on the Hans Christian Andersen fairytale about a mermaid who loves human beings and dreams of someday being “part of that world.”
In true Marquis fashion, spellbinding sets and costumes all add to the ambience of this underwater world, like the big beautiful fish, featuring actors wearing giant fish “heads” and clothed in black, giving the illusion of aquatic creatures swimming around the stage.
Families that attend the show will find themselves singing along to the show’s ditties and cheering the littlest of mermaids on as she learns about the world above.
And because the show is totally interactive, younger audience members will participate in the plot too.
Little Mermaid plays at the Marquis Theatre in Northville Saturdays and Sundays March 9-April 5, 2019 at 2:30 p.m. Special weekday performances happen at 2:30 p.m. April 2-4, 2019.
Tickets are $10/person or $35/person for all four shows in the Classic Storybook Season. This show is recommended for kids three and older. Kids under the age of three will not be admitted.
