Michigan is flush with musicians, artists and performers, and every summer, the secretly gifted among us come out to show off their talents at local festivals. Even better, the majority of those festivals are geared toward families.
With designated kids zones and activities, taking little ones out on the town is totally doable, and after months of keeping to ourselves, spending some time around other people might be a good thing.
See a world-class jazz fest, watch dancers – or knights! – battle, sway to live music on the beach or try your hand at chalk art.
We love summer especially because there are so many fun events and festivals to check out. Some of our favs include Blake’s Lavender Festival, Blake’s Sunflower Festival, Oakland County Fair and Canterbury Village Medieval Faire.
