Craft Roundup: The Geometric Trend

I first saw some of my favorite crafters create DIY projects with a geometric theme in mind a while back, but the trend is extra popular right now as my Pinterest, Instagram and Facebook feeds are packed with even more clever ideas. This form can take on a lot of different shapes based on who’s creating it, which makes it even more exciting. Take a look at this week’s roundup – which project is your favorite?

DIY Geometric Wall Art

For the Love Of‘s geometric wall art has a whimsical, honeycomb look about it. Make it as big or as small as you like; her hexagon template is all about personalizing the piece to make it unique. Why not give your children a smaller canvas to work with and arrange a collection of their finished pieces together on your mantle?

DIY Geometric Painted Planter

Skinny masking tape is the trick to making this geo-themed planter. Merriment Design‘s color schemes are a fresh take on a spring palette. Make sure to look through all of her photos to see how her young assistant “helped” make this planter come to life!

DIY Triangle Nursery Mobile

Sew. Craft. Create. selected soft pastels and glittery golds for this triangle mobile. A great project to add to your own nursery or to give as a gift for a parent-to-be.

Geometric Diamond Paper Planter

Take a look at this planter. Did you think it looks like paper? I didn’t at first! Making Lemonade offers a free template for you to try this project at home. Taking a look at her how-to photos, this project could be a good math lesson, too, as your child works on tracing angles to fold the planter together.
