Ann Arbor Ice Carving Festival at County Farm Park

Families watch as the pros use chainsaws and flamethrowers to create spectacular works of art at the annual Ann Arbor Ice Carving Festival Feb. 8, 2020.

Are you looking to wow the kids during your next family-bonding day? Bring them to the annual Ann Arbor Ice Carving Festival at County Farm Park on Saturday, Feb. 8, 2020.

This hot free February event kicks off at noon with live ice carving demonstrations. Watch in awe as ice carving teams from colleges all across southeast Michigan use flamethrowers, chainsaws and other tools to turn blocks of ice into intricate animals, plants, buildings and more.

But that’s not all. Kids in attendance will be able to make winter-themed crafts based on the sculptures and munch of some delicious food from the area. Plus, enjoy refreshments and a scavenger hunt, too.

The 2020 Ann Arbor Ice Carving Festival runs noon-4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 8, 2020, at County Farm Park in Ann Arbor. Admission is free and open to the public.
