FROM THE Activity

A trip to Frankenmuth, Michigan would not be complete without visiting Ñ or even enjoying an overnight stay Ñ at the Bavarian Inn Lodge. Nestled on the banks of the beautiful Cass River, this lodge offers a unique experience for its guests.

With everything from delicious chicken dinners to shopping, arcade games, pools and waterslides, the Bavarian Inn Lodge offers something for everyone in the family.

Families coming to Bavarian Inn Lodge are often looking for all-ages fun, and according to Joanna Stratman, assistant general manager of Bavarian Inn Lodge, the lodge has plenty to offer.

There are four indoor pools Ñ and one is reserved for adults only. There are also two waterslides, more than 160 video games for kids and adults of all skill levels, plenty of activities like weekend nightly karaoke and indoor mini-golf, plus a children's play village.

"We have water-park type features, but we aren't set up like your typical water-park. We refer to it as a living room waterpark," Stratman says. "Right near our pools and waterslides, we have mixed in comfortable seating, arcade games and other attractions."

Those who use the fun center don't have to be hotel guests. While non-guests can't use the pools or waterslides, they are welcome to play mini-golf, visit the arcade, eat in the restaurants and shop.

While the area around Bavarian Inn Lodge offers a variety of shopping and dining options, Stratman says families can come to lodge and never have to leave. Besides pools and fun, there are two restaurants, including a cafeteria-style type restaurant and a full-service dining area.

"You can enjoy things in Frankenmuth for the day, or stay the weekend," Stratman says.

For those looking to celebrate, Bavarian Inn Lodge can host birthday parties as well.

"We are the perfect place for any type of getaway. We have lots to do for girlfriends getaways, couples weekend, whatever the make-up of your trip, we can accommodate it," Stratman says.

There are a number of different guest room options Ñ from standard rooms with double and queen-size beds, king bedrooms, family suites and whirlpool suites.

"There are two-room suites with a bedroom and separate living area with a sleeper sofa for those who need more than two beds," she says. "There are also plenty of connecting rooms throughout Bavarian Inn Lodge. Families will have plenty of space and places to sleep."

With the Bavarian Inn Perks Club, visitors are rewarded for eating, shopping and staying.

"With our loyalty program, the Perks Club, guests can earn points on lodging, dining and shopping at any Bavarian Inn location. This includes the hotel, downtown restaurant, and affiliates like The Cheese Haus, Covered Bridge and Leather Shop and many of the stores in the RiverPlace Shops. There are lots of places to earn," Stratman says. "For every $200 you spend, you get $20 loaded back on your Perks Card."

It costs $10 to sign up for the Perks program, and in addition to earning points for spending, the club members also receive a free chicken dinner on their birthday.

Want to visit with your family? Stratman says visitors can look for special deals throughout the year.

"We have plenty of special packages online on the package page. There are all-inclusive deals and other promotions available, especially if the guests are flexible on the dates of their visit," Stratman says.
