All the World’s A Stage

“To inspire and empower young people through innovative and artistic programming to achieve an enriched and rewarding life.”

That’s the vision of this local theater arts organization, which was founded in 1986 and provides professional training to children in grades 3 through 12 in acting, improvisation, musical theater styles of dance and more.

Those interested in performing can sign up for one of their classes to learn a variety of skills and prepare for time on stage. Open auditions are held for each performance and dates can be found on the open auditions tab on All the World’s A Stage’s website.

Macomb Center for the Performing Arts

Since opening its doors in 1982, the Macomb Center for the Performing Arts has welcomed Johnny Cash, Ray Charles, Mandy Patinkin, David Copperfield and other top performers in music, movies, comedy and more. Today, it continues to be a top spot in the region for all ages to experience stage shows.

Aside from stellar performances, this local performing arts center boasts enrichment and outreach programs for students, including the year-long Macomb Children’s Chorus – open to students in grades 2-12 – and the Page to Stage Series, which is a theater program that blends curriculum with stage performances. Students in middle school, high school and college can participate in one of the show choir programs, as well.

Macomb Civic Theatre

Anyone who auditions for a performance with the Macomb Civic Theatre receives a role. That’s just one way that the community-based theater, which is an affiliate theater program of the Sterling Heights Parks and Recreation department, operates. Plus, those with special needs are cast alongside those without in something the group calls Noah’s Ark.

Richmond Community Theatre

For more then 50 years, the Richmond Community Theatre has dazzled theatergoers from Richmond and the surrounding cities with both classic and original plays.

Open auditions are hosted, and all community members who are interested in participating in a show are welcome to attend.

Warren Civic Theatre

In the summer of 1990, Warren resident Greg Trzaskoma started a children’s theater workshop in the gymnasium at the Ridgewood Recreation Center. That workshop had just 12 students – and today, more 2,000 people have participated in the Warren Civic Theatre.

Many of Warren Civic Theatre’s productions feature open auditions, and anyone who auditions is given a role within that show.
