Dad’s Response Over Sanitary Napkin Request Goes Viral

One dad has been dubbed a legend for his response to his daughter's request for pads with wings – and we have to admit it is kind of funny.

I’ll neverever understand why some men get weird over period products. Half the population menstruates and at some point you’re going to interact with a person with a period – sorry guys, thems just the facts.

Yet, I always seem hear stories about some guy who got all awkward over a tampon or menstrual cup– or worse ones about a dude who made the person menstruating feel bad for having a period.

Of course, every now and then I run across a feel-good story about a guy who turns the situation lighthearted – like the one about the dad of Twitter user @niamhpemx, aka Niamh, who went viral for his response to her request for pads.

In a text, which Niamh posted to Twitter, she asks her dad to grab her a pack of pads with wings before the shop closes.

Like any dad would (or should), he obliges – but doesn’t know which ones she wants, which is totally 100-percent valid, as dad doesn’t use them, so he might not know which one she likes. But instead of asking which ones she wants, dad goes full dad-mode and sends her back a picture of purple and green Always pads.

“Blackcurrent or lime?” he asks.

The Internet quickly took notice of the post, which has racked up more than 30,000 likes. And, of course, there were some naysayers who called her out for having the audacity to ask her dad for feminine products – which c’mon, guys, if you helped make a kid you should be able to get them what they need, even pads – but the overwhelming majority cracked up over dad’s response.

“Omg legendary,” wrote @BlueSmurfyTonii. “Might start using these instead of having to explain which ones I need if I ask someone to pick me up some pads in the future.”

“It’s amazing you are that close to your dad to feel comfortable to ask him,” adds @Chantzy. “He is a legend!”

And I agree with that. In fact, any person that’s willing to put their own feelings aside to help another person – and with a bit of humor – is a legend in my book.
