Ypsi Doll 'Paper Doll' T-Shirts are Mom Made – and Grow with Little Girls

We've seen them in paper and magnet forms. Now, a local business has turned 2D fashion dolls into a fabric version kids can wear!

Meet Ypsi Doll – a line that Ypsilanti mom Rebecca Whitaker created with her daughters in mind. "Both of my girls loved to play dress-up all the time, but this created huge laundry piles," Whitaker told Metro Parent. Ypsi Doll solved that problem.

A refreshing take on the traditional paper doll, it's actually a Velcro doll screened onto a high-quality white T-shirt. Your child wears the top paired with a beautiful, solid-color matching skirt with a floral print, also by Ypsi Doll (sizes 4T-16).

The dolls are the same size, no matter the shirt size, so their outfits can stay with your tyke as she grows. There are four different doll designs with unique names – Audrey, Sienna, Scout and Maya – and each has an online personality you can follow through the Ypsi Doll blog. For instance, little Sienna Paris, who loves the color orange, is a plucky only child who keeps her "Emergency Boredom Avoiders" notebook filled at all times. And Maya Ling is an ice skater and budding little photographer who prefers the color purple.

While each Ypsi Doll's wardrobe leans toward a certain palette, all their outfits are totally interchangeable (on top of being "one size fits all" – genius!). You can also pick up a special $15 three-ring binder to store outfits, which run about $13 a pop, when not in use. The shirts and skirts are about $39 each. Charm necklaces featuring the dolls are available, too. Find it all in the Ypsi Doll store. The Ypsi Doll coloring pages provide a bit of free downloadable fun, to boot.

An added bonus: The entire line is made in the USA, primarily by women-owned businesses.
