Dally in the Alley in Cass Corridor in Detroit

Join the cool alley cats in Midtown Detroit for the annual music and street fair, Dally in the Alley, happening Sept. 7, 2019.

Since 1982, Dally in the Alley has been a growing music festival in Detroit, and this year is no different.

On Sept. 7, 2019, between Second and Third Avenue and West Forest and Hancock, in what’s considered the Cass Corridor in Midtown, bring your kids down for the annual street festival.

There will be plenty of musical acts split among three different stages within the fest, so there will be performances for every music lover.

Check the event’s website for a complete lists of acts and check out our guide on taking kids to concerts to prepare.

You’ll also find some entertaining performance acts, which have included painting and yoga in the past.

In addition to the music, check out the various vendors, selling all kinds of artwork and crafts; plus a variety of food vendors that will satisfy even the pickiest of eaters.

Food vendors this year include:

  • Amicci’s Pizza
  • Union Street
  • Delectabowl
  • Concy’s Empenadas
  • Nosh Pit
  • Kabob Kart

Among others. Just walk around the fair and check them out.

For the little ones, there’s plenty of fun! Be sure to take them to the Kids Fair on Forest Avenue, just east of Second Avenue for free activities like face painting, games, arts and crafts and more.

And don’t forget to pick up your Dally in the Alley merchandise. Vendors will be selling T-shirts, posters, totes and more – plus there will be a limited number of Dally posters from past years.

The 42nd annual Dally runs 11 a.m.-11 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 7. Admission is free, so be sure to check this longtime staple and experience the culture and music for yourself.
