M-15 Garage Sale Stretches from Bay City to Clarkston

Spring is upon us and people are cleaning out their closets, which means a lot of fabulous finds for garage sale fiends. When it comes to garage sales, Michigan has no shortage, but why kick off your garage sale season and see what you can find at the M-15 Heritage Route Garage Sale, which happens along M-15 on May 2, 2015.

This monster of a sale stretches south along M-15 from Bay City to Clarkston – some 46 miles according to the event’s Facebook page, and more like 70 miles according to Google Maps – and features tons of gently used items, art projects, trinkets, food and whatever else you might expect from a normal garage sale, from dozens of different vendors set up along this stretch of road.

In addition to sales, this 40-year-old event also offers shoppers the opportunity to enjoy everything that the historical villages, shops and towns along this route have to offer.

Though this sale is going on, please note that the road will not be shut down for the event. Exercise caution while attending the sale. Golf carts and other non-street legal vehicles are not allowed, and vendors must rent a space with a local business or establishment to participate. Side-of-the-road stands are not allowed.

The garage sale happens from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday. There is no official map of the sale – just bring your wallet and keep your eyes peeled for stands.

For more information on the M-15 Heritage Route Garage Sale, see the Metro Parent calendar listing.
