Marshmallows fall from the sky at these epic Easter events around metro Detroit. Don’t miss the sweet fun this April!

The Easter Bunny is back in town and he’ll be unleashing a blizzard of marshmallows over metro Detroit instead of Easter eggs. Although Easter egg hunts are still as popular as ever, your children will enjoy doing something a little out of the box this Easter, such as watching marshmallows drop above from a helicopter.

Spring is in full swing, so ring in the season with fluffy white puffs of sugar and fun at these local events. Some even offer other family-friendly fun to do while you’re there.

Marshmallow drop events in metro Detroit

Marshmallow Drop at Steffens Park

April 12, 2025

  • Address: 33000 Garfield Road, Fraser
  • Cost: Free

Children will be split up by ages 1-5 at noon, ages 6-10 at 12:45 p.m and kids ages 11 and over at 1 p.m. Bags will be provided. Exchange marshmallow-filled bags for goodies. Each drop will have five golden eggs and those who find them will receive a special prize! The Easter bunny will also be there, along with donuts, pony rides and a petting zoo. Registration required.

Great Marshmallow Drop at Worden Park

  • Address:Lexington Boulevard and Crooks Road, Royal Oak
  • Cost: Free

Watch 15,000 marshmallows fall from the sky as they’re dropped from a helicopter in this exciting springtime tradition hosted by Oakland County Parks. Kids only need to collect one marshmallow to exchange it for a prize. Drop times are divided by age group (ages 4 and under at 10 a.m.; ages 5-7 at 10:15 a.m.; ages 8-12 at 10:30 a.m. and individuals with disabilities (all ages) at 11 a.m.) No registration required. Be sure to bring a bag to collect your marshmallows!

Wayne County Parks Marshmallow Drops

  • Address: Elizabeth Park – 4250 Elizabeth Drive, Trenton; Nankin Mills Park Area – 33275 Edward Hines Drive, Westland
  • Cost: Free

Thousands of marshmallows will drop from the sky as they tumble from the Easter Bunny’s helicopter! For kids ages 12 and under, the event begins at Elizabeth Park at 9 a.m. and Nankin Mills Park Area at 11 a.m. Turn in your marshmallows for prizes.
