Macomb, Oakland, Wayne and Washtenaw counties are full of Mother’s Day events that are sure to fit any mom’s taste. Some of the events fall on Mother’s Day, which is May 8, 2022, others happen before the big day, and some require registration, so be sure to check in advance.

Mother’s Day Tea at Wolcott Mill Metropark Farm Center

Bring your mom out to the farm’s greenhouse to enjoy a tea and light snacks surround by the beautiful sights and smells of the spring flowers in bloom. All moms will receive a special plant to take home, too! For ages 5 and up. Pre-registration is required by 4 p.m. a week before the program.
Walk-A-Mom at Stony Creek Metropark

Families can enjoy a spring hike on the trails with mom or grandma and take time with the wildflowers that are starting to bloom. Choose the nature trail of your choice to enjoy and be sure to stop by the nature center to get a certificate. All moms and grandmothers receive a flower to plant a home. Pre-registration is not required.

Pre-Mother’s Day Luncheon at Meadow Brook Hall

Mother’s Day Walk at Kensington Metropark in Milford

Join trail guides at the Kensington Metropark Nature Center for an hour-long guided walk to see what resident animals and plants are up to in the spring. Wildflowers and birds will be in their spring glory. Look for bird’s nests in the trees and on the ground, and identify birds that are singing and calling to one another. This program is entirely outdoors. Pre-registration required by 4 p.m. May 7.
