Still searching for a family-fun festival you can bring your children to? Need something to do in metro Detroit this upcoming weekend? Check out the Oak Park Summer Fest Aug. 8-9, 2015, at the Oak Park Community Center for two days of enjoyable summer activities.
Escape the comfort of your house and take advantage of this summer weather with a variety of activities. Leave your air conditioner behind and let your kids cool off in the pool. Encourage them to be active through swimming or jumping up and down on one of those bouncy inflatables. You’ll find it all at this summer fest.
For the rising athletes, miniature golf is available for those looking for something equally competitive and fun. Rock wall climbing is also a great way for your son or daughter to compete while feeling a sense of achievement when making it to the top.
This year also marks the third annual Oak Park Art Fair at the festival for those searching for a new creative piece to add to their house. From handmade crafts to exquisite paintings, a variety of artwork will be up for sale.
Attendees will also be able to visit food vendors and enjoy the Taste of Oak Park event. There will also be music and merchant vendors for people to visit.
With an atmosphere made up of live music mixed with the thrills and laughter of visitors, the summer fest is the perfect getaway for quality family fun. The event is free and runs noon-10 p.m. Saturday-Sunday.
