This September, we’ve found tons of family-friendly fun, including fall festivals for you to check out with your kids. We also have plenty of other fall activities, including cider mills and apple orchards and the best fall Michigan color tour spots.
I can’t wait to take my son, Jordan to Enchanted Glenlore Trails this month. We went last year and it’s now one of our favorite fall events! We’re also looking forward to seeing Disney on Ice at Little Caesars Arena.

Best September family events in Macomb County

Romeo Peach Festival in Downtown Romeo

Richmond Good Old Days Festival

You’ll get the hometown fair experience at this fest, which features carnival games and rides, motorsports, parade, fireworks and more.
St. Hubert Parish Fall Festival

Enjoy rides, raffles, entertainment, a beer tent, a margarita bar, a corn hole tournament, sweet tooth booth, games and more at this fall fest.
Movies in the Parks at Stony Creek Metropark

Enjoy a drive-in style movie night to see Ghostbusters Frozen Empire. Bring your own food and drinks. Movies are free but a Metroparks daily or annual pass is required to enter the park.
Metro Boat Show at Lake St. Clair Metropark

Check out the boats, live music, kids zone, lawn games and more. Kids zone has crafts, water fun and face painting.
Festival of the Senses at Clinton Township Civic Center

This annual fest celebrates all mediums and specialty food vendors as well as live performances by local talent.
Jammin’ at the Junction Car Show in Downtown Roseville

Utica Road closes from Gratiot Avenue to 12 Mile Road for live music, food vendors, car displays and more.
Best September family events Oakland County
This month, I recommend heading to the Michigan Renaissance Festival. Each weekend offers a different theme. Be sure to check out Dinosauria before it leaves on Sept. 8 and Cranbrook on the Green before it leaves on Sept. 22. Find even more Oakland County events in September on our calendar.
Michigan Renaissance Festival at the Hollygrove Grounds

Fair maids and merry men take a step back to the 16th century for jousting tournaments, comedy and theater shows, music, games and “real” mythological creatures. Each weekend is themed so check on it before you head out.
Arts & Apples Festival at Rochester Municipal Park

Experience the artwork of over 200 talented artists, a variety of food trucks, live entertainment, art demonstrations, a children’s area and more.
Dinosauria at the Detroit Zoo

- Cost: $6/person in addition to Zoo admission | Get tickets
Visit the zoo for an immersive walk-through experience that will take you back in time to the prehistoric era. See 34 life-like animatronic dinosaurs, including a towering, 65-foot-long Brachiosaurus. There is also a new, T-Rex photo opp this year.
Enchanted Glenlore Trails

Enchanted is an immersive night walk perfect for all ages, which features a circus flair and interactive games throughout the trail. There will also be special event programming nights that will include bourbon and wine tasting events, kid craft nights, trick-or-treating, live music on certain nights and more.

Head to McHattie Park for the Movies in the Park series! Movies begin at dusk. Sept. 20 is Hocus Pocus (PG).
Michigan Fall Festival at Canterbury Village

This family-friendly event features cider and donuts from Yates Cider Mill, pumpkin bowling, a hay bale pyramid, bounce houses, lawn games, petting zoo, costume contests and more.
Cranbrook on the Green

Visit the new miniature golf course, inspired by the art and design of Cranbrook. There are ten holes for you to practice on. Tickets to the Green include admission to the Art Museum’s galleries.

Common Ground’s Birmingham Street Art Fair

This art fest features the work of jury-selected artists and crafters showcasing their work in painting, glass, jewelry, printmaking, ceramics and more. At the children’s tent, kids can create an animal mask on Saturday and coffee-filter butterflies on Sunday.
South Lyon Area Pumpkinfest

This year’s theme is, “Rock Around a Pumpkin.” It will include a craft show, scarecrow contest, parade and tons of pumpkin-themed fun on Saturday and Sunday.
