4th Wall Theatre Company Transitions to OpenSpot Theatre

Detroit's popular 4th Wall Theatre Company has rebranded to OpenSpot Theatre, but still has the same devotion to inclusion in theater.

4th Wall Theatre Company has transitioned into OpenSpot Theatre. The name may have changed, but the group maintains its same passion of introducing theatre to all.

OpenSpot Theatre provides an accessible theatre program with fun, creative and therapeutic activity for children and adults of all ages and abilities. The rehearsal and performance process allows students to experience empowerment, personal affirmation and build important life stills.

The theatre program is designed for everyone — from students with developmental disabilities to seniors looking for a fun, new creative outlet. One day workshops and weekly classes are offered in areas of singing, dancing and acting.

OpenSpot Theatre began in Metro Detroit in 2012 as 4th Wall Theatre Company. The company was created to allow greater accessibility to the performing arts to all people who are interested. In 2020, the company expanded to a new location in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Co-founders Katie Mann and Annie Klark hope to open additional chapters, nationwide, in the coming years.
