Mom’s Spaghetti is Serving Up Classic Eats for Metro Detroit Families

A trip to Mom’s Spaghetti should be on every Detroiters downtown bucket list!

Even if your kids aren’t Eminem fans (yet,) a trip to Mom’s Spaghetti  is something that should be on every Detroiters downtown bucket list.

Quick details about Mom’s Spaghetti

Owned by Grammy-award-winning rapper Eminem, the casual spaghetti restaurant is named after one of the rapper’s most iconic lines on perhaps his most well-known song, “Lose Yourself.” At Mom’s Spaghetti, you won’t find anything on the menu that’s fancy or difficult to pronounce; just good ol’ spaghetti, served in huge portions with meatballs and garlic bread.

The frills that are lacking on the menu are made up for in the fun, touristy nature of the restaurant. Kids will love that the walk-up order window is tucked away off the street. Take your takeout containers to go, or eat inside the restaurant’s casual seating area clad in red-and-white-checkered tablecloths and nostalgic corner store vibes.

After your meal, stop by The Trailer to browse Mom’s Spaghetti merchandise. Eminem fans will enjoy the exclusive merch, collectables, rare items and not-for-sale archival items that are also on display.

Mom’s Spaghetti menu highlights for kids

With a simple menu of spaghetti, meatballs (vegan options available,) garlic bread and s’ghetti sandwiches, the offerings at Mom’s Spaghetti are definitely kid approved. Here’s a quick breakdown of what’s on the menu, in case you have picky eaters at home.

Spaghetti

Enjoy a heaping portion of the signature spaghetti. The huge “regular” serving size is plenty for kids; consider ordering a large and sharing! Add your choice of meatballs or “rabbit” (vegan) balls, and pair it all with a side of garlic bread.

S’ghetti sandwich

The standout menu item at Mom’s is the s’ghetti sandwich, which is exactly what it sounds like — delicious spaghetti sandwiched between two pieces of bread with ooey gooey cheese. Order it “Marshall style” for a side of dipping sauce, just the way that Eminem remembers eating it as a kid.
